Weekend Horse Racing Advice

Last updated : 19 August 2005 By The Sheik

After the excitement of York midweek it’s pretty moderate affair this weekend. However, there should still be one or two decent betting opportunities. The 1.50 at Sandown sees recent runaway Newbury scorer Echelon reappear. Michael Stoute’s fillies are always worth keeping on your side as they tend to improve throughout the year. Echelon doesn’t need to improve to win this and is quite a confident selection. Nufoos and Musicanna may follow her home.

At Chester Green Manalishi is in good form at the moment and provided he gets a decent low draw he can make it 3 wins in a row in the 4.50. Salviati may run well here along with Foley Millenium.

At Newton Abbot Mr Ed may look a dicey proposition in the feature chase at 3.35 given that he has been beaten 3 times when favourite over the larger obstacles with only 1 success. However, this race will suit him better in terms of pace and hurly burly and although the handicapper has been strict on him for what he has achieved I believe if his jumping stands up he can win this.
