Rangers cruised to a 6-0 win tonight and with last week's Thistle game they have scored 14 goals in two games.

Tonight Stephen Dobbie and Stephen McLean both scored two apiece, Paul McHale and Billy Gibson making up the half-dozen.

Of the 1st team staff involved Nerlinger played for the whole 90 minutes and Latapy was replaced after 57 minutes by Charlie Adam.

Whilst the night belongs to the scorers keeper Allan McGregor should also get a gold star for his performance - on at least eight occasions he showed remarkable coolness and ball control under pressure - the ball came to him and he sprayed out firs time passes to his colleagues.

20 mins -Following some good build up work the ball was cut across the box for Dobbie to score.

43 mins - Rangers worked themselves into good positions before Dobbie obtained possession 12 yards out before turning and shooting into the keeper¹s top left hand corner.

55 mins - Bob Malcolm made a tremendous clearance, storming in to clear a certain Aberdeen goal.

60 mins - Stephen McLean scored from 18 yards out after a good run in from midfield.

65 mins - Best goal of the night came from as a result of a marvellous series of moves. Billy Adams made ground and then held the ball well before releasing to Dobbie - he then backheeled it to Charlie Adam who then fired over a cross to the back post when McLean was waiting to head it in.

67 mins - Rangers 5th goal came as the Aberdeen defence footered about with the ball. Paul McHale dispossessed a hapless Sheepie and shot in from the edge of the box.

78 mins - Dobbie was denied a hat-trick as the Aberdeen keeper made a tremendous save.

85 mins - Billy Gibson rounded off the scoring for the evening with a solo effort from the centre circle - he went off on a run and then let loose a shot from 18 yards.
