The Magnificent Rangers Family.

As a support - The Rangers Family - we can't influence what occurs on the pitch: Much as many, if not all, of us would like too.

Indeed those in charge of steering The Club through these troubled waters seem hell bent on doing so without the aid of the opinions/suggestions of the rest of 'The Family'.

Whilst I have no doubt Messrs Johnston, Bain, McClelland et al have the long term interest of Scotland’s Greatest Institution at heart it is extremely disconcerting to bear witness to the silence emanating from the lips of our power brokers during these times of apparent Rangers-bashing being perpetrated by all sectors of society – be they opponents, journalists, politicians or the 'ordinary' man in the street who doesn’t have leanings towards The Rangers. Indeed I’d be very interested in the musings of the above named individuals if it was their maternal family that was under constant attack from all sides. I doubt we’d be deafened by silence then!

That said; I’ve no desire to turn our great Club into the persecuted mess that a certain other Glasgow based Club has become due to the paranoia of its support and constant cries of persecution from within the walls of its home. All myself - and a vast majority of The Rangers Family - are looking for is a level of support from within akin to the level of support afforded to The Club. In spite of some terrible results, shocking performances and the inability of the Board to free up funds to strengthen the playing staff, the backing of the team on the park is nothing short of incredible and that is thanks entirely to the extended members of The Rangers Family who have a deep seated love of the Institution they each belong to and feel compelled to Follow Follow.

As is the case with any family you as an individual can’t choose the other members of it and simply have to make your own choice as to which of these you associate with and which you struggle to acknowledge as family members: this can sometimes lead to rifts and fall outs with others in the family who have differing views on individuals. The one unique aspect of our family is the love each and every member of it has for The Club and the overwhelming desire for success on the pitch held by everyone associated with The Rangers.

During these trying times of financial insecurity and media persecution it is heart-warming to see the continued unconditional support The Rangers Football Club is receiving from its extended family; even more remarkable when one considers the ridiculous prices we are being asked to pay to attend matches played in sub standard stadia, on very poor pitches, whilst being barracked and welcomed by bile from the sparsely populated home stands - and all the while treated worse than rats by the authorities employed to ensure the well-being and safety of those in attendance.

The Rangers Family are a magnificent bunch.
