The Friday Match Preview By Dunster

It's the reincarnation of Meadowbank Thistle next on the list, and here's hoping that the return to the top of the table sees a concerted push to put pressure on that unmentionable team who are our only realistic rivals.

The victory over Hearts was not without it's nervous moments and some of our passing left a lot to be desired but criticism is churlish after a two year absence from our rightful home, it's the result that counts.

Historically there's not a lot to go on for this fixture as we've only ever played them four times on League business. I'm discounting two Skol Cup ties against Meadowbank Thistle as they were a totally different proposition to today's much more economically viable Livvi outfit.

Last year we drew one and won one at home, while honours were even at Almondvale, or The West Lothian Courier Stadium, or whatever it's called these days. We were the first visitors to take three points there last season when we won 2-0 but our end of season capitulation was rather meek as we went down 2-1 after taking the lead.

For the first time we have genuine injury worries with DeBoer and Numan added to the list. I'll take Ross to slot in to the defence and a possible return for Lovenkrands, although I hope no risks are taken so early in the season. I'm going for a 3-1 win for a Rangers who will hopefully be rejuvenated by their return to the top with Cannigia again getting among the goals.
