The Changes Within Rangers, Changes With Me

When you’re a kid you go to the games and win, loose or draw you don't ask questions, like who caused those goals, the managers transfers, tactics and is the chairman fooling us. I remember the first game I ever attended. It was a midweek game against Hibs in the Skol Cup. The only thing I remember from the game is Mikey Weir scoring in a one nil win lobbing Andy Goram who came and punched the ball straight to him, and my best mate’s Dad telling me that the girl with the green jacket who had been standing on the stairway the full games name was Steward. From then on I went to every home game.

There have been great memories over the years like Nine in a Row, Winning the league at Parkhead, The Advocaat years, and Helicopter Sunday. So many I can’t pick a personal favorite. I think these also helped me not question the Chairman’s doings.

The players I have had the honour of watching have also helped Mr Murray stay in my good books, Players like McCoist, Gazza, Laudrup just to name a few. Individual brilliance like Laudrup's hat trick against Hearts in the Scottish Cup final, Gazza's Hat trick against the sheep to secure the title and McCoist breaking every record there is to beat.

In all truth, we had it good in those days so any lies that were said and any problems that were beginning were overlooked. However, for all these great players we are now seeing players like Ostenstadt, Bernard and Capucho been bought on short contracts with good money which we pay. Instead of giving players like Brighton, Duffy or Mclean a chance we bring in Maneiro and Jeffers. For all the records broken in good seasons we have this season’s records for the wrong season. Who would have believed we would have broken records over 100 years old?

Now I am begging to question the Chairman and now I do understand who caused the goals, the manager’s dreadful transfers and I can also see the lies that we are been told. A club the size of Rangers don't even have a youth Academy when clubs like Southampton are getting results with sales of players for £12 million. We are been lied to on a regular basis and our club also refuses to defend themselves from scum in the media. It’s left to us the fans to do that. In any other business a manager who has failed to get results and also broken all records for the wrong reasons would have been sacked long ago. Maybe Murray is keeping Big Eck on until he gets his man but we the fans at least deserve the truth.

My conclusion is that these problems haven't arisen from when big Eck arrived. They have always been here waiting to happen, it’s just we are taken notice now due to the performances on the park and also we aren't kids any longer. When will it all stop? I don't know but I sure hope it isn't in another few years when we go through what we went through this season.
