Talking ahead of next week's Peter McKenzie testimonial match Gordon Smith has urged fans to attend the match and promised as strong a Rangers team will be fielded allowing for the first team squad being in Germany.

Speaking to the offcial Stirling Albion website - www.stirlingalbionfc.co.uk  -he said -

•"Rangers Football Club is delighted and proud to provide the opposition for Peter McKenzie's Testimonial Match being played next Tuesday at Doubletree Dunblane Stadium. Peter's contribution to Stirling Albion is second to none, indeed without his commitment, energy and enthusiasm, it is probably true to say there wouldn't still be a senior club in the City of Stirling.

•I've known Peter for many years - indeed I played the last 3 games of my career at Stirling Albion back in 1988 - and I hold him in the highest regard. His generous nature and strong views about how football should be played are, I'm sure, known throughout the game in Scotland.

•Whilst our first team squad are on a pre-season trip to Germany, we are nevertheless committed to sending as strong as squad as possible, including a mixture of non travelling first team players, U/21 internationals, reserves and youths.

•

•I would like to ask Rangers' fans to turn up in numbers, not just to support their team but also to make it an evening to remember for someone who gave so much to the game and asked for little in return"

•Supporters are reminded that the match will take place on Tuesday 12th July, with a 7.45pm kick off. Prices are £10 for adults, £5 for OAPs and Students, and £2 for Under 17s.
