Still Trying To Get Over Another Old Firm Defeat

Yet again though chances were missed we had no luck at all and the referee, Kenny Clark ( please note that he is no relation), was totally useless.
Sutton, once more, got away with murder all afternoon and both Henrik and Sutton managed to avoid being booked despite blatant diving during the second half.

Leaving work on the Monday night I picked up the Sports Section of the
Herald. Turning to the report on the game I was absolutely astounded to see
the following sentence highlighted half way through :-

"O'Neill's Celtic are reminiscent of the Milan of Baresi and Van Basten".

Lets face it, to any football fan with an appreciation of the beautiful
game, the Milan team of Baresi, Rijkaard, Gullit, Van Basten, Donadoni,
Ancelotti, Maldini et al are one of the finest teams in world football over
the last 20 years.

In case anyone has forgotten Milan reached 4 European Cup Finals in the
space of 6 years losing only one to the disgraced Marseille team in 1993 -
remember them?

Both Steaua Bucharest and Barcelona were thrashed 4-0 in finals and they
played football of a quality that our friends from the East End could not
even dream of, never mind hope to emulate.

I take it the reporter in question, Rob Robertson, never saw Milan play.
However, if he did, he is either suffering from severe memory loss or maybe
working in close proximity to our old friend Graham Spiers addles your
brain.

Honestly could anyone possibly imagine Neil Lennon playing in that Milan
team? Please stop laughing now!!

Quite frankly to compare the current Celtic team to the Milan of the late
80's / early 90's is like comparing a clapped out old banger with a top of
the range Rolls Royce.
