SCOTTISH REFEREES TO HANDLE SUPER CUP FINAL

Last updated : 28 August 2002 By Grandmaster Suck
A team of Scottish referees, led by Hugh Dallas, has been appointed to
handle to UEFA Super Cup final between Real Madrid and Feyenoord, which
takes place in Monaco on Friday evening.

Hugh Dallas leads a four man team with Wilson Irvine and David Doig as
assistants and Stuart Dougal as fourth official.

The match will be Dallas's last major final, as he steps down as a FIFA
referee at the end of this year when he turns 45 (he will continue in
Scotland, however). He has already had numerous high profile appointments
around the world, having refereed the UEFA Cup Final in 1999, and was fourth
official at the World Cup Final this summer, so this marks the end of an era
for one of Scotland's greatest referees.
