The original club of Eindhoven, (PSV were a later creation formed out of the giant Phillips company) FC Eindhoven have enjoyed their moments of success including a Dutch championship, however in recent years the club has languished in the second tier of Dutch football, proud of its heritage but only too well aware that this division is light years behind the Eridivisie, making the gulf between our own premiership and Championship, miniscule in comparison.
Now the future of FC Eindhoven is threatened, the Dutch FA has decided to crop the second division and has simply written to FC Eindhoven and told them that it wants them to leave, quite simply with the fact that there is no pyramid system and they have no where to go, this would leave them in the footballing abyss with no hope of gaining promotion back to the two professional footballing divisions.
As you would expect the fans of the club and indeed the Club are not taking this lying down and are asking for the backing of football supporter everywhere to back them in their campaign for survival with messages of support and more importantly perhaps a cash donation to enable them to continue the survival fight.
FC Eindhoven accept that if they finish bottom of the league then they should be relegated, if a suitable pyramid system is in operation, but they are quite rightly enraged that they should be kicked out of the competition at the whim of the Dutch FA.
In Eindhoven they are known as the people''s club, the motto is Eindhoven Voor Eindhoven which effectively means "The Club of Eindhoven for the people of Eindhoven"
