WINNING BY A MITIE MILE!

A magnificent May 7th on the card as evening racing gets ready for the off

The racecourse has eight evening meetings this year and the MITIE Group are
sponsoring every race on the card this Friday including the feature race -
the £16,000 MITIE Mile.

The company provides a range of services to a wide variety of businesses
including property services, cleaning and security and are long-time
supporters of Hamilton Park. Their annual meeting traditionally launches
evening racing and always attracts large crowds.

Hamilton Park Chief Executive Morag Gray said: "The MITIE Racenight begins
our evening season with six great races and a sparkling £16,000 in prize
money for the MITIE Mile.

"We are delighted to have the MITIE Group back this year for its annual race
night and thank this prestigious and highly-successful company for its
valued support over the years."

Racing begins at 6.10 pm with racecourse entrances opening as usual two
hours before at 4.10 pm.

The full race card is:

6.10 - The Mitie Amateur Classified Stakes (Amateur Riders)
6.40 - The Mitie Maiden Auction Stakes
7.10 - The Mitie Mile Fillies Stakes (Handicap)
7.40 - The Mitie Scottish Handicap Stakes
8.10 - The Mitie Median Auction Maiden Stakes
8.40 - The Mitie Handicap Stakes

Meanwhile, Hamilton Park is benefiting from the fine early summer weather
which helped push up crowd figures up on the first and second day of racing
on April 26 and May 2.

Attendance figures soared by 48 per cent compared to last year on April 26.
Similarly dry conditions brought the holiday weekend crowds out last Sunday
for the Discover Scottish Racing Family Day when the attendance recorded was
up by a superb 43 per cent on the equivalent day last year. The number of
people at the racecourse on Sunday was 6121 - up from 4265 in 2003.

Morag Gray added: "These are significant increases in attendance figures and
confirm the growing popularity of Hamilton Park. The sunshine and dry
conditions have ensured we are off to a flying start. Hamilton Park looks
its best when the sun is shining. And we are delighted with the feedback
we're getting from racegoers who are glad to be back racing this year.

"We're hoping the good weather will remain for our final meeting in May -
Braveheart Night on Friday, May 14 when there is a distinctly Scottish theme
to our racing."
