Not All Coppers Are Bassas

Friends at court enabled Ladybluesky to get a freebie parking place at the home end of the Caley Thistle ground and she then walked around the front of the stadium before making her way into the Rangers end. After spending much of the afternoon listening to her old bones rattling in the cold, wishing she'd settled for watching the game on the box, she perked up considerably when JCD hit the winner and suddenly the long drive home didn't seem quite so imposing.

As she prepared to leave the ground, she spotted a lane leading behind the TV cameras, an excellent wee short-cut back to her car so, with all the Bears heading one way, she set off in the opposite direction. But no sooner had she moved off than she spotted two of Inverness's finest at the end of the lane.

'I bet they'll let me walk all the way there, then tell me I can't get through,' she thought. Never mind, she decided to chance her arm, although she feared the worst when she spotted the officers nodding in her direction and having a wee laugh as she moved closer.

'Hello,' said one of them.

'Hello,' said she (cue for a song?).

'Who scored?' asked the other polis.

'Jean-Claude Darcheville,' she replied.

'Yessss,' he said. 'Ah just wish we could've stayed to see it. Safe home.'
