Hullo Hullo Bears and Bearettes,

June 2003 (Thursday 5th - Sunday 8th) sees the Texas True Blues host the 11th annual NARSA Convention at the Hyatt Regency Hotel here in Houston, Texas.

As Chairman of the Texas True Blues, it would give me the greatest pleasure to see as many of you Bluenoses over here for the event. The NARSA Convention has evolved into a 4-5 day party celebrating Rangers and Rangers Supporters, complete with VIP guests from Ibrox, and is not to be missed.

I was lucky enough to be in Windsor, Ontario for this year¹s event, which was hosted by the Motown Loyal RSC, and it was a fantastic experience, but looking forward, we are working hard to try and make Houston 2003, the biggest and best yet.

The official schedule of events is still to be finalised, but will run along these lines :

Thursday June 5th

4:00 pm - 7:00 pm - Convention Registration - Hyatt 7:00pm till late - Reception with entertainment - Hyatt

Friday June 6th

7:30am - 1:00pm - Davie Cooper Memorial Golf Tournament - Tour 18 Golf Course - Houston

7:30am - 6:00pm - Trip to San Antonio for Alamo tour and Riverwalk pubs/shopping (approx. 5 hrs in San Antonio)

10:00am - 5:00pm - Six Flags Astroworld Theme Park - Houston

8:00pm till late - Official reception for the Rangers party with entertainment - Hyatt

Saturday June 8th

10:00am - 12 noon - NARSA AGM followed by question and answer session with members of the RFC party - Hyatt

6:00pm till late - NARSA Grand Banquet, black (or red, white & blue) tie dinner with guest M.C. and speakers followed by music, dancing, singing and lots more good stuff. - Hyatt

Sunday June 9th

11:00am - 5:00pm - Farewell Barbecue and Beer Garden at the Double Eagle Ranch - Houston

All the arrangements to put this schedule on are now being made, and will be fine tuned in the coming months. The prices for events like the San Antonio trip and the Banquet are not set, but will be kept affordable and will not be any more expensive than like events at previous Conventions.

As well as the official events, there will (as you can imagine), be scores of impromptu parties and get together’s as the weekend progresses, and (for the ladies !!) the Hotel runs a complimentary shuttle service to the Houston Galleria shopping complex 10 minutes away. Also, on both Friday & Saturday afternoons there will be a shuttle service from the Hotel to Big John`s Bar, which is the home of the Texas True Blues, where you can visit the Blue Room and see where we cheer on the Gers every week.

We have secured a Hotel rate of $84 US per night based on single, double, triple or quadruple occupancy, which, for a facility of this class is fantastic value and is a special rate for our Convention only. Our Convention website at www.texas2003.com will be up and fully running shortly and will include official event information, local attraction information and links as well as a link to the Hyatt website, through which rooms can be booked directly.

Many of the those who have committed to coming are planning to make it their family holiday and tour Texas while they are here. Whether you do that or not, think seriously about coming over, it will be a great time and you are all assured of a great Texas True Blue welcome. Feel free to pass this on to all of your Bluenose pals and bring as many of them as you can. If you¹ve got any questions or need info on anything, contact me through Follow Follow anytime, I`ll try to help in any way I can.

Yours in (Red, White &) Blue
