More Glory Glory Nights?

Nobody could fail to be impressed by the way Spurs
dismantled Arsenal in the recent Carling Cup
semi-final. I wonder if Alan Hutton was watching.
With a Wembley Cup Final now on the agenda, the White
Hart Lane outfit had an additional carrot to dangle in
front of our man and, with Murray and Bain nudging him
towards the exit door, it was just too tempting.

Those of us who thought we had a ready-made
replacement for Hutton in the shape of Steven
Whittaker have had to think again following his poor
performances against Gretna and Caley Thistle.
Despite being right-footed, Whittaker looked more
comfortable on the left against St.Mirren, while Kirk
Broadfoot was quite impressive in Hutton's role in the
cup-tie against Hibs. The success (or otherwise) of
our season could hinge on how well we cope with the
departure of AH.

I firmly believe Alan wanted to stay with the Gers but
those calling the shots made up his mind for him. He
made a good start to his new career against Man. Utd.
and I'm sure he will prove to be a very good signing
for Tottenham. Having previously had a leaning
towards Chelsea, I'm contemplating switching my
allegiance to Spurs, if only for the Carling Cup
Final.

Like all Bears, I wish Alan well...but won't he feel a
proper plonker if he finds himself cup-tied out of a
Rangers v Spurs UEFA Cup Final?
