Maurice sign up for 4 years/Sunderland the new Hearts?

Superb news today for our great club as young Maurice Ross has signed a 4 year deal to keep him at Ibrox until at least 2006.  Given Ross' excellent performances last season (including a great showing and humble interview in the Cup Final), this ensures that the right back area is well stocked.  This follows the contract extensions to Stephen Hughes, Bob Malcolm and Allan McGregor - but according to some, we never produce our own players!

Elsewhere, Sunderland (some would argue Peter Reid is in desperation) are looking like the Hearts of the English Premiership as they are rumoured to be trying to plunder anyone from Ibrox that is available.  Michael Mols is already down on "trial" and has been given until the end of the week to prove his fitness, whilst the Wearside club are rumoured to be sniffing around Tore Andre Flo with a bag of cash £4.5-6m in size depending on the source (or number pulled out of the air) available.

This Bear finds it amusing that he's been labelled a dud and a flop - I would have thought a 26 goal haul was not a bad first full season.  However I guess I'm in the minority.
