Despite repeated reports of interest from Inter Milan and Liverpool, among others, and a negative vibes from his agent Ranges remain confident of signing Peter Lovenkrands to a long-term contract.

His current contract runs until the summer of 2004 but chairman John McClelland has today announced that the club are planning to negotiate an extension to keep the Dane at Ibrox.

McClelland told the club's official site -

"We value Peter highly and he is most definitely in our long term plans. He still has two years left on his contract but Alex McLeish will be meeting with his agent in the very near future to discuss an extension."

Lovenkrands himself is in Denmark preparing for the international against Luxembourg and has recovered from the lower back problem which saw him substituted in the Old Firm game.
