http://www.maxhtec.net/Timour_article.html , here you will find
information about the club history with an emphasis on the role of
Timour Ketsbaia .

Unfortunately most of the material that was publicised about the team
so far , has not been translated in English and that is certainly
something we intend to do in the near future with the help of
www.anorthosis.net and at the moment we are still looking for
volunteers .

Please note that , Anorthosis was founded in Famagusta in 1911 , which
is now occupied by Turkish troops , deserted for 31 years , being a
ghostown and a bargaining asset of Turkish diplomacy , despite the fact
that it was not included in their original plans of the island
partition . Until this moment the people of Famagusta are not allowed
to visit their homes , since the area is enclosed in a barbed wire
fence , when the rest of Turkish occupied Cyprus in the north is
accessible to everybody . We would be very grateful , if you publish
this information .

About the home stadium of Anorthosis , the team , since 1974 was like
a nomad , playing in stadiums around Cyprus , such as the communal
stadium of Aradhippou , GSZ in Larnaca , Tsireio in Limassol and
Dasaki Ahnas until the construction of Antonis Papadopoulos stadium
finished in Larnaca around the late 80’s .

This stadium has a capacity of almost 10,000 and at this moment is
still upgrading the eastern terrace with the construction of boxes and
the reinstallation of the floodlights . In the case that Anorthosis
goes through Trabzonspor , the match is going to be hosted in GSP
stadium in Nicosia . It has capacity of around 25,000 and it is most
modern stadium of the island . You can get a taste of it if you check
the pictures here ,

Cyprus as you probably know , is a very popular tourist destination for
Britons , so it would be a good opportunity for Rangers fans to combine
a sunny holiday with a footbal match and ofcourse ...all the beer they
wish to drink :)

Thanks for your attention .
