Earlier today his family had to take the difficult decision to turn off the life support system and he passed away shortly thereafter.

The family gave the okay to donate Garry's organs in the hope that some good may result from his death.

Whether first team games, Reserves and U19s - home and abroad, in season and pre-season - the big man was a cheerful presence and a valued member of the 'Reserve Team Loyal.'

In recent years his love and concern for his county and faith led him to join the Orange Institution and "play my part" - he became secretary of Lodge 440 Lights of Glasgow and depute secretary of District 49 Southside.

His sense of fun, his willingly-given friendship and his commitment to Rangers will be sadly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

It was a pleasure and a privilege to have known you mate.

RIP Garry
