Three year old Alex Waugh was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and has been getting treatment for the last few months. Friends of his family are organising a fundraiser for the wee man on Saturday 21st March 2009 at Big John's Bar, 6150 Wilcrest @ Harwin in Houston.
We would like to ask you all for your support in helping to raise funds to assist with the family's medical costs. Although the family does have insurance, they are still left to deal with a hefty medical bill, so hopefully we can ease some of the financial burden being placed on them so that they can concentrate on helping Alex to get healthy again.
Two of the events taking place are a prize draw, and a silent auction. The grand prize for the draw is a 42� flat screen tv, tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20, they will be available on the day of the benefit and are also available at Big John's bar anytime.
The silent auction will be held on the day of the benefit, we have many quality items up for bid and more are being added daily. Among the items we have are: a Southern Comfort/Chambord Gift pack including a Washburn electric guitar, t-shirts, caps, ladies tops, a Jack Daniels Gift Pack, including a bottle of Old No. 7 itself, sweatshirts, t-shirts, golf balls; Dickie's jacket, signed Rangers FC jersey, signed Celtic FC jersey, signed Aberdeen FC jersey, signed Hibernian FC jersey, 4 Astros tickets to a game of your choice, 4 Texans tickets to a game of your choice, limited edition Astros World Series bat with laser inscribed autographs of entire W.S. squad, plus much, much more.
Come and join us on the day and help make a difference, or stop by Big John's and pick-up some raffle tickets. The benefit will run all day, during the soccer and rugby matches being shown and will continue until approx. 6pm. We also hope to have live music from 2:30pm. Auction item bid sheets will be closed at 5:30pm sharp, highest bid wins, the prize draw will take place between then and 6pm.
