Rangers chalked up a convincing 4-0 win over Hearts
on Saturday morning in an SPL Youth League fixture at
Auchenhowie.

A quick two-goal burst shortly before the interval put
the Ibrox youngsters in the driving seat to secure
three points with an impressive display.

Brian McLean was in impressive form, and it was from
his low cross that Steven Smith opened the scoring in
40 minutes.

Four minutes later the same combination did the
business again when McLean¹s high ball was dropped by
the Hearts goalkeeper allowing Smith to squeeze the
ball into the net.

Any hopes the visitors had of a second-half recovery
virtually disappeared in 48 minutes with a superb
twenty-yard free-kick by Bob Davidson for Goal Number
Three.

With three goals in eight minutes either side of the
interval and the game all but won Rangers coasted
throughout much of the second-half, but there was
still time for a fine fourth in 84 minutes when Alex
Walker played a one-two with Bob Davidson before
slotting the ball home.
