Weekend's horse racing

The firm ground was all against him there and the going at the Curragh should be much more to his liking. There has been a lot of money for Oratario who was just in front of Dubawi at Newmarket but I fully expect Dubawi to win this today.

At Newmarket I really like the chance of Rebuttal in the King Charles 11 Stakes at 3.10. Brian Meehan’s charge has shown much the best form of the runners in this race. The one thing we have to take on trust is his fitness as he is without a run so far this season. Meehan can get them fit enough at home and I would be disappointed if he failed to win this.

At Haydock The Sandy lane Stakes at 2.55 has an interesting look about it with many of the runners going there with a chance of sorts. Obe Gold, Prince Charming, Captain Hurricane, Dance Night and Andronikos will all have their followers but Jewel In The Sand looked very good in the earlier part of last season when winning at Royal Ascot and at Newmarket before being slightly disappointing afterwards. I think she can return to form here and can win this despite having a big penalty to carry.

Finally the 7.20 at Stratford is one of the most prestigious Hunter Chases of the season. It usually is won by a very decent horse and although I really like Sikander A Azam and Montifault I think Ask The Natives looks to have the winning of this. 3.5 Miles is a long enough trip but I think his class will get him home in front.
