Weekend Horseracing Review

The Cambridgeshire handicap is run at 3.55 and Sir Mark Prescott, who has a fantastic record in the race is responsible for the favourite Pedrillo. This has been backed all week but 4/1 in a fields of over 30 runners does not do much for me. I think Chinkara at about 20/1 could prove too strong for him. He is trained by Brian Meehan who was responsible for the Cheery Hinton winner Magical Romance. So we know that his string is in top form. St Andrew's, Everest and Blue Trojan are others to consider.

The 2.55 at Redcar is the 2 Year old trophy over 6F. This can go to the progressive Caesar Beware from Henry Candy's yard. He won well at Doncaster last time, is unbeaten in 3 runs and will hopefully extend that run to 4 here.

The big race on Sunday is of course the Prix De L'Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Grey Swallow has been supplemented for this race and I take him to confirm his Irish Derby superiority over Epsom Derby winner North Light. Mamool represents Godolphin who have a marvellous record in the race and he should go well. Others to consider are Warrsan,Bago,Ouija Board andValixir.

The Prix de L'Abbeye over 5F is basically a British Sprint run in France. The whole field except one or two runners will be British. I believe that The Tatling can prevail here.
