This is an open running of the Derby in which many seem to have a chance of sorts. The likely favourite is likely to be Snow Ridge. He ran well enough when 2nd in the 2,000 guineas. North Light is likely to challenge for favouritism after his fine win at York.

Added to that Keiron Fallon will be trying to double up in the Derby after winning the Oaks on Friday.

Percussionist and Salford City are also improving horses with a chance. I'm going to take a chance on American Post who is unbeaten although he was lucky last time. He also doesn't have the best action for Epsom but his class might see him through.

The rest of the card looks difficult with perhaps, Maktavish, if he gets a high draw and if we can forgive a poor run last time at Haydock he can go well in the Vodafone Dash at 3.30pm.

At Doncaster Parasol 2.50pm looks to have been found a decent opportunity to win. also Solo Flight may be worth an interest in the 2.20.

At Haydock Tante Rose in the 2.35. It will be her first race of the season and her fitness will need to be taken on trust.
