Weekend Horse Racing Outlook

Jonny Ebeneezer has been in sparkling form recently and if he gets a high draw he has an excellent chance of success.

The two to give him most to do could be Pic Up Sticks, who will surely win a big one before the season is out and Mutawaqed.

Newbury stages the Hungerford stakes at 2.50 where I expect to see Polar way from the in form yard of Amanda Perratt to overcome the disappointing Trade Fair with Suggestive the next most likely winner.

Also at Newbury Mubtaker makes his reappearance in the Geoffrey Freer stakes. He will be very short odds but should win to cement his chances in the Arc de Triomphe in October. In fact it might be a good idea to strike an anti post bet for him on the Arc before he wins on Saturday.

Newmarket also races on Saturday and Mamool should win the 4.50 if allowed to take his place. The 4.15 sees veteran Solo Flight in with a winning chance in the classified stakes at 4.15 assuming he gets a strong pace and luck in running.

The opening race at Newmarket has a tricky look to it but it can pay to stick with Khabfair who has looked an improver in his last two runs, both at Ascot. Lake Garda may give him most to do.
