Weekend Horse Racing Advice

It is as you might expect a very competitive event with many horses going there with decent chances. King Harald is a horse I like and one who will improve throughout the year.

He only has a light weight today but after running well for a long way on his comeback run at Cheltenham he was absolutely out on his feet on the run in. I think that may have taken a lot out of him and I’ll wait for another day with him.

Trabolgan is a very nice horse and should start favourite but this will be his first run of the season and he will need to be at his best to win here though Henderson is adept at getting them ready first time.

The one I like here though is Red Devil Robert of Paul Nicholls. He is only 7 and is still improving. He also ran very well on his reappearance before lack of condition showed after the last when second at Wincanton recently. That race will have put him spot on for this prize.

The Stan James Hurdle at 3.50 looks good for Faasel. He should have won last time but was out battled and that is my main concern here. Hopefully he’ll be wearing some headgear tomorrow to help him concentrate and I hope he can win this.

The Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle at 3.00 is a very decent event as well. The top weight Mr McGoldrick is my selection here. He usually jumps well and if he stays the three miles he can go well. The classy Lord Transcend is on the comeback trail and if Crystal D’Ainay takes to fences he could be the one to cause an upset.

Finally in the 9 O’Clock at Wolverhampton the Ian Semple trained Toshi has been the subject of recent good reports and I will be hoping that the first three have won to give me more ammunition for him. It’s a decent little event with Blue Trojan, Nevad Desert, Mizz Tee and Ground rules all bound to have their supporters. However, that should mean we get a decent price for Toshi.
