Over at Goodwood Ashdown Express will take some beating if allowed to take his chance in the 4.15. He is very well in at the weights.

There are also two Group 1 races at the Curragh where Dettori chooses to ride Doyen rather than stay in Britain with the stables Rule of Law. Doyen has already won the King George at Ascot and will be a short price to follow up here. However, I don't expect him to get it easy and I think Grey Swallow can lower his colours. Grey Swallow has improved all year and beat the Epsom Derby winner in the Irish equivalent. The drop back in trip will also suit. Another with a decent chance is Azamour from the John Oxx yard and it could be too early to write off the French hope Bago. All in all it should be a terrific race.

The second of the Group 1's involves a rematch between Soviet Song and early season wonder filly Attraction over a mile. Soviet Song beat Attraction well enough at Newmarket and has won again whereas Attraction flopped in France. Soviet Song should again prove her superior.
