Twin Win for Scots

Scotland secured a double victory over Austria at
Firhill tonight at Under-19 and Under-20 International
level in preparation for the forthcoming FIFA Under-20
World Cup in Canada.

Unfortunately there was a meagre crowd of just 482
spectators present to witness the two games.

In the Under-19 fixture, the Scots emerged triumphant
2-0 through goals from Fraser McCann of Gretna and
Chris Maguire of Aberdeen.

Alan Lowing of Rangers featured at left-back for
Scotland Under-20's.

Ross Campbell opened the scoring in the second game
with a spectacular dipping shot from a wide angle in
21 minutes.

The Scots were always on top, and extended their lead
three minutes into the second-half when Mark Reynolds
converted a Greg Ross pass.

2-0 ahead, the home youngsters were coasting when, in
75 minutes an overly-strong passback from Scott
Cuthbert caught goalkeeper Scott Fox unawares, Erwin
Hoffer heading the ball home.

Victory was secured five minutes later however when
Campbell netted from the penalty spot after Austrian
goalkeeper Marco Knaller unnecessarily fouled Calum
Elliot.
