THURSDAY AT ASCOT

Last updated : 18 June 2003 By The Sheik
Thursday sees the running of the Ascot Gold Cup over 2 and a half miles.
The two horses at the top of the market are Mammool and Mr Dinos both of
whom have sound chances. The popular veteran Persian Punch also runs and
his trainer thinks he will win.

Also with a sporting chance is Jardine's Lookout who has bits of form which
would give him every chance at a big price and given the prices of the
fancied horses I will probably back him each way.

There are some very trappy races on the card but two to consider are
Summitville in the Ribblesdale at 3.05 and Tuning Fork in the Hampton Court
stakes. He disappointed a little last time but has shown form in better
class races than this one.
