This weekend's horse racing

Mister McGoldrick appears to have too much weight, First Gold doesn’t seem to be as good as he was. Hand Inn Hand must have a good chance but sometimes finds less than expected at the end of his races. Supreme Prince has won over the course and distance and Buckby Lane and Whereareyounow both have decent chances. However, in a ver open race I think Turgeonev can run well and spring a bit of a surprise. He is certainly overpriced at 25/1 and should give us a decent run for our money each way.

Doncaster main event is the Grimthorpe Chase at 2.25 where Gingembre continues on the comeback trail from injury. He ran very well on his comeback run and can be expected to improve on that. Colourful Life would also have a good chance here along with Just in Debt. However, Strong Resolve who ran extremely well on his last visit to the course when he was second in the Welsh National and he looks the likely winner to me. If he doesn’t run here then Gingembre could be the one.

Kelso features the Totepool Chase whose conditions were altered to allow Strong Resolve to run. So if he runs here then I would expect him to win. In his absence Lord Jack, Ghadames, Noisetine and Brave Thought can all run well. If Strong Resolve doesn’t run here then Brave Thought can be the one to take advantage.
