This Weekend's Horse Racing

He runs Marcel in the 12.45 at Haydock and Contraband should win wherever he is sent. He also runs Manx Royal and Kingston Town in the 3.10 at Sandown. He has an outstanding record in this race and manx Royal could be the one here.

He also runs an old favourite of mine in Stormez in the Rehearsal Chase at Chepstow. He isn’t the most consistent of performers and ran poorly in this race last year, but even although he has a lot of weight to carry here I think he can win. One Knight may give him most to do.

The main interest will fall on the clash between the two best two mile chasers in the British Isles when Azertyuiop and Moscow Flyer line up in the Tingle Creek at Sandown. Most experts are going for the former but I have great faith in Moscow Flyer and I hope he can prove superior. He has never been beaten when completing the course as a chaser and I hope he continues that run today.

Ad Hoc appears in the 3.40 at Sandown, his favourite track. The race has cut up a bit and he is a confident selection to prevail here. Limeric Leader may follow him home.

The Tommy Whittle chase at Haydock can go to the Irish challenger Cloudy Bays. Truckers Tavern and Take The Stand will have their backers but Cloudy Bays can make his ling journey worthwhile.

If Contraband doesn’t run in the 2.05 at Wetherby then Chauvinist will be very hard to beat. He is an improving type and I can see him stringing a sequence of wins together.

SUGGESTED STAKING PLAN.

TREBLE: MARCEL; CONTRABAND & CHAUVINIST

WINS: MANX ROYAL SAND 3.10

LUCKY 15 : MANX ROYAL, MOSCOW FLYER, CLOUDY BAYS, AD HOC.
