The Weekend's Horse Racing Tips

His trainer says the race may come a week too soon but I'm hoping he's good enough to win anyway. The favourite is One Cool Cat trained by O'Brien but unraced this year he could be anything. Of those that have run Haafhd, Salford City and Whipper have been most impressive. I think Whipper could be the one to follow the Swallow home.

The 2.15 sees our old favourite Mornin Reserves reappearance, he is bound to come on for the run, but if he is well he has every chance. I think he has Avonbridge to beat.

There is a mixed card at Haydock with the Swinton hurdle the main attraction. The weights are dependant on Westender's participation and we may best wait until that is known before going into the race too deeply. At first glance Macs Joy seems to have ticks in all the right boxes. Also don't rule out The French Furze who has run well here before.

The 1,000 Guineas takes place on Sunday and although plenty of "experts" think that Attraction will not stay, I don't believe them. I think she is the best horse in the race and will win. Should she not stay the red Bloom or Majestic Desert could be the most likely ones to profit.

Also on Sunday Hamilton runs the Davie Cooper Memorial Handicap and if Ulysees gets a high draw he could follow up his recent course win.
