This Weekends Foursome:

PREM- Birmingham v LIVERPOOL 23/20

At first glance it seems rather generous odds for 5th place Liverpool’s visit to Birmingham sitting at a less than impressive 14th in the Premiership. The scousers have notched up no less than six victories since December, but have taken losses against Man Utd, Chelsea and more surprisnly Southampton whom were beaten by the Brummies two weeks ago which perhaps explains why the bookies reckon the hosts may take something from this game especially with home advantage. But that 2-1 victory was small consolation against five straight losses in January alone. Expect them to ‘Kop’ another defeat this weekend.

CHAM-Queens Park Rangers v PRESTON 9/5

Queens in 11th place picked up slightly from their straight five defeats in December with a draw v Brighton in the New Year but a defeat followed at Leicester. Two wins against Stoke and Coventry before last weeks no-score draw at Millwall doesn’t inspire much confidence against today’s visitors whose undefeated run of eight games included six straight wins and has pushed them up to 6th place. Doubt the North Enders will be hard ‘pressed on’ by the Rangers on Saturday.

LGE1-Milton Keynes Dons v HUDDERSFIELD 6/4

MK in 21st place may have their tails well up and wagging after taking a 4-1 victory from their visit to 9th placed Bradford last week. But as this is only the Dons seventh victory in 31 starts, and their only back-to-back wins have been in September, they may not have enough to handle Huddersfield (14th) who will be equally pleased at holding league leaders Luton to a 1-1 draw last week which had followed a poor run of three draws and a defeat but their sole victory was secured against Bournemouth three weeks ago so it it could be it is time to take the Dons to Town on Saturday.

LGE2-Cambridge United v MACCLESFIELD TOWN 23/20

Unsurprisingly United lie at the bottom of the League Two feeding pond having only 3 victories to show for 31 starts this season their last win was versus Rushden way back in November 2004. They host 4th place -and-climbing Macclesfield who are looking for their fourth straight win ,and after beating league leaders Yeovil by an impressive 3-1 last week will surely prove too hot to handle for a team at the opposite end of the table.
