That Was the Week (or three) That Was

The Pointer Sisters maintained they wanted a man with a slow hand. It remains to be seen what they would have made of Hearts goalkeeper, Gordon, at Ibrox because here we had a man with a slow foot. And I've got to say if Gordon does take as much time with his women as he did with kick outs, especially when Hearts weren't on the back foot, then there must be any number of damsels cutting about the Capital with huge smiles on their faces.

Yes folks, you can take it as read that the Jambos' time wasting from early doors was not to my liking. And it was justice and then some to see them rushing those final few minutes (and dismissing a fair play at a throw in thingy in the process) to get on with the game.

Not that Gordon's time wasting was the game's only talking point. That girning wee scrote just recently installed as Hearts new manager did have a point after the match regards his side's first half penalty and the merits of whether Boumsong should have stayed on the park thereafter.

Now from my vantage point in the Broomloan I didn't think it was a penalty but that is not the point because the man that mattered, I.E the referee, did.

Now we keep being told that this rule is down to the interpretation of the individual referee As I see it the judgement should be based on whether a player deliberately tries to deny an opponent a definite goal scoring opportunity or not. If he does inside the box then he must go off. If he doesn't then the tackle shouldn't even merit a caution, the resultant penalty should be enough justice for the attacking side. It will be interesting to see how this wee scrote Robertson reacts when a justifiable challenge is on the other foot.

The game's other notable features to me were the reinforcing of the notion that Novo's worth to the side is increasing by the game and a surprise and a most welcome forty-five minute appearance by youngster Steven Smith in the second half.

It is always great to see youth being given a fling and in this case young Smudger did not disappoint. Some of the touches with the left paw were a joy to behold and he seemed to be in a pretty confident frame of mind right from the start. The switch at half time is also a glowing testament to the confidence now coursing through the club's veins. Can anyone imagine big Eck risking an untried youngster in the same circumstances earlier in the season?

There is a famous (infamous more like) photograph taken during another Sellik public disorder game (the one at CP on March 16th 1997) that shames us all. Puts to bed any notion that match officials in this country can be expected to officiate fairly and squarely in matches involving Sellikfitbaclub. Shows up once and for all that inTIMidation is a way of life for this country's footballing officials.

I refer of course to the black and white snap from that game that shows Dallas running towards a melee in the Celtic penalty box. He is not only running towards it but also the camera catches the fact that Dallas is looking up and towards the incident and has a clear view of what is happening. And what we see is Jackie McNamara's fist planted firmly and squarely on Mark Hateley's jaw. Lest we forget it was Mark Hateley and NOT McNamara who was red carded that day for his part in the rammy.

Another similar picture, which if anything is even more disturbing for those who would tell you they care about fairness and justice in Scottish football, was printed for public consumption, courtesy of The Daily Rhebel on Tuesday. (I'll read anything in public toilets, honest)

In this one we clearly see Camara kicking Vignal off the ball in the most recent Celtic shame game, about two yards from the Main Stand linesman. In this photograph we are left in absolutely no doubt that the linesman witnessed it too, because we also clearly see him shouting out in reaction at Camara's thuggery.

Which means there can only be two possible scenarios.
1 - The linesman refused to tell the referee what he saw, which means he should be invited by his bosses at the SFA to tell us why he didn't inform the referee. He should then be asked to resign.

The only other possible scenario there can be is that the linesman DID inform the referee what took place. Which therefore means Clark, refused to red card Camara, presumably on the grounds that he is a Celtic player. Which means Clark should be sacked. There are no other possible conclusions a sane person can come to.

Oh, and another thing. Camara knows he's going to get what he deserves and that is why we've been treated to a public admission of guilt. There is an ulterior motive behind this however and that is to leave the SFA with no option but to ban Novo also.

I don't know about any of my fellow bears out there but this 'Dignified Silence', especially in light of the way the filth and their apologists have been able within a fortnight to somehow apportion equal blame for the madness at Ibrox on November 20th, to our club is now seriously becoming an issue for me with regards to renewing my season ticket next spring.

Still on the subject I see that one of the leading numties in ra Sellik supporters movement wants a pow wow, but at the same time still tells us that O'Neill's claims about Lennon being racially and sectarianly abused a fortnight ago was factually correct. Isn't it about time we put an end to the claims of these mentally diseased maggots and hired the services of a lip reader? The one that nailed Amoruso will do me fine. Sorry, we have! And wee Nelly is a bigot - officially.

We’ve witnessed Richard Gough dip his toes into the managerial waters for the first time. I think he can consider himself a lucky man to have been given so high profile a job, at such a high level considering he's been out of the game for so long.

One would hope that the appointment of Gough would help put an end to the incestuous nature of the relationship of Livingston and the Yahoos but only time will tell. Oh and another thing Richard, prepare yourself for a hate fest when you man the dug out for the first time at the cesspit. And PS, don't expect your opposite number to stick up for you. After all according to him, big boys can take the abuse.

As for Walter Smith finally taking up the Scotland manager's job after the selection process had basically eliminated everyone else? The only thing I can say is Walter is basically off his head. The bottom line is he'll have Rangers hating scum in the pressroom and in the stands to deal with. I wish both Gough and Smith the best of luck in the coming year. They'll certainly need it.

Ah well nothing lasts forever. It was back to more defensive and midfield Eurotrash in Holland, especially in the first half. We must be the worst defenders in the history of European competition and the way we were opened up by a moderate if competent side must surely banish any thoughts that we have turned the corner. Giving the ball away cheaply is the biggest sin in my book and it is the one thing we excel at in Europe.

There was a cameo moment in the first half that captured to perfection everything that is wrong with the team. Boumsong imperiously chipped the ball over the head of an opponent leaving him for dead heading out to the left hand side of the midfield. He then rolled the ball to Malcolm as if to say, 'Right I've done the hard bit let's see what you can do.' And what did Malcolm do? He rolled the ball thirty yards up the park (under no pressure whatsoever) straight to the feet of an opponent. Same as it ever was.

So after a nice November we've been treated to a drab December so far. I don't see that there can be any excuses acceptable for the showing at Pittawdry. If our players think they can take the foot off the gas after all the hard work done against the yahoos then once again all they are achieving is put the manager's neck in a noose.

Well, stap me vitals after asking that we should hire a lip reader last week The RST have been and gone and done it. My heartfelt thanks to all concerned and I do believe that this move will have a very positive effect on how a great many of the Rangers fans on the outside of The RST actually view it.

A wee note of caution here though. I see the RST would be happy with an apology from Lennon after being caught 'red-handed' as it were. I'm sorry but I have to disagree. I want this snarling, bigoted, little republican corner bhoy to be treated by Plod and the PF in exactly the same, as a Rangers player assuredly would have been if the roles had been reversed.

As was to be expected the hypocrisy of the CSA is breathtaking on the issue. They want us to ignore the findings of a lip reader, but were more than happy to extol the virtues of the one who nabbed Amoruso.
