Manchester brace yourself: a chance to be part of a new book on the UEFA run.

‘Manchester Brace Yourself…’

We've all heard it said that everybody has at least one good book in them. I dare say there are a lot of publishers out there though who think that’s exactly where it should stay but this one just had to be written.

The run to Manchester meant too much to too many people for their stories not to be told: this was my generation's Barcelona '72; this was a lifelong ambition realized; this was the tale of one of the most successful managers in the club's glorious history answering the call to dust down his navy blue cardigan, help the players to their feet and make them pick up the ball and run with it.

A Hollywood movie couldn't have scripted just how far they would run.

'Manchester brace yourself...' is the story of that amazing run, from the people who lived it. In it you'll find stories of bears across the world who travelled far and wide to be there that day; of people who gave up tickets just to watch a final in the company of loved ones (some no longer with us); of extraordinary acts of kindness, newborn babies, school exams and the convoy of blue that headed to Manchester. It follows the drama on the day as it unfolded up until its sad end both on and off the park.

If that wasn't enough it also includes the tales from the journeys to that historic day: from Barcelona home and away to that special unforgettable night in Florence. Every Rangers fan young and old has a story to tell from that year and I want to hear them, the best ones will take pride of place in a book that leaves a little bit of history for our next generation of Rangers fan. It's a book that says 'this is my team', 'that’s what they did' and 'this was how I lived it'.

I've spoken to the publisher and any proceeds due to myself from the book I’ll be donating to the Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal.

So please take the chance to email your story to thebluenosebear@hotmail.co.uk

This is your last chance to let your fellow bears know about your story - submissions after this weekend will not be included.

Thanks.
