Around 500 spectators watched the game at a
dilapidated ground once graced by Ibrox legend George
Young.

An early goal from Andy Hornell when he capitilised on
a misplaced Martin Ure header before lobbing the ball
over the advancing Callum Reidford in the fifth minute
turned out to be the only goal of the game.

Rangers, fielding two trialists, had several chances
to level the scoreline, notably in the second-half
when several efforts from Ross McCormack came close –
one twenty-yard free-kick striking an upright, another
shot from the same distance flashing just wide.
Substitute Bob Davidson should have grabbed the
equaliser near the end, only for hesitation to cost
the Light Blues the game.
