Not a huge Rangers involvement in the mid-week internationals but Mikel Arteta again starred for Spain as he lit up their U21 game against Armenia:-

"Mikel Arteta superbly took over the role of play director during the second half in todays game against Armenia and the results were an impressive 5-0 win in Zamora Spain. Arteta scored in the 45th minute to put Spain up 2-0 on a penalty. In the second half an inspired Spanish side with Arteta running the show tightened their grip and totally dominated the match creating numerous opportunities to win handsomely."

For the other Bears abroad it was a case of warm the bench all-night or come on as subs.

Mo Ross and Bob Malcolm were unused in Lithuania - as was Peter Lovenkrands in Denmark's game against Bosnia.

Shota Arveladze entered the field of play a few minutes into the second half of Georgia's 0-0 draw with the Swiss.

Holland won 2-1 against Moldova with Ronald De Boer and Fernando Ricksen coming on with just under the half-hour left in the game.
