Grand National Preview

Last year's winner Monty's Pass must have a good chance even though he is considerably higher in the weights than last year. Also McCoy's mount Jurancon II has been on good form and has a good chance. Thyneandthyneagain has a solid chance if allowed to take part along with last year's Topham winner Clan Royal and my particular hope this year JOSS NAYLOR. He has been lightly raced this year and I hope he is at peak fitness. He ran well in the Hennessey and has a good racing weight. As usual it's a very open race and with ground conditions good we should get a decent amount of finishers.

Also on the card is a 2m4f hurdle featuring the comeback of Rooster Booster after has sad second place in the Champion Hurdle, well it was particularly sad for my wallet. He faces a very good field including Rhinestone Cowboy and his stablemate Monkerhostin, one of my few highlights from this year's festival. If Rooster Booster runs to his best he will win, but after Cheltenham even I am unsure about the level of ability he retains. I'll be praying for him to win.
