Feyenoord 1 (Kuijt 55) Sporting Lisbon 1 (Vieira 38)
(Sporting win 4-3 penalties)

The Portuguese side took the lead in 38 minutes when
captain Hugo Vieira headed home a Joao Moutinho
corner, but the scores were levelled ten minutes into
the second-half when Dirk Kuijt, having missed several
good chances earlier, found the net from the edge of
the box.

With tome running out and a penalty shoot-out
inevitable, Sporting introduced substitute goalkeeper
Ricardo Pereira, the hero of the Portugal - England
clash in EURO 2004, and he did the business once
again, his saves helping to eliminate Feyenoord.
